Well, we finally returned from the beach. We had such a good time. I just can't believe what an easy baby Sarah is. She did wonderful on the trip down. We weren't sure how well she would travel. This was the first long trip she had taken. We stopped in Ellerbe at a rest stop and let her get out and crawl around on a blanket and eat a little snack.
After we checked into the condo we headed to the grocery store and came back and unpacked. Much to our surprise we found out that our condo did not have a washer/dryer as expected. It was due to arrive sometime that week. On Sunday morning we headed out to the beach. Sarah loved it. We were careful to make sure she didn't get overwhelmed with it. We took it nice and easy. Andy really spoiled us. He would take Sarah up around 11:30 for her lunch and nap and we got a little extra time on the beach. Kelly would usually go up shortly after and I stayed down a little longer. I don't think there is anything more relaxing than reading and listening to the ocean. That evening we went to Dennis's for a visit and a cookout. We had a wonderful time and got to see several people we haven't seen for a while. Sarah played hard with all of the little ones. Monday after spending the morning at the beach we relaxed for a bit and then headed to Captain George's for our evening of seafood (especially crab legs). After that we headed to Broadway on the Beach. The heat was unbelievable and we were ready to go back to the condo. During the ride back to the condo Sarah had her one and only meltdown of the trip. She cried and cried, something she very rarely does. We think she was just tired of being in the car and had gotten extremly hot. We decided that the next night would be the perfect night for mommy and daddy to have their "date" night and nana and Sarah would stay in and eat pizza. I did venture down south after coming off the beach to visit a few of my favorite stamping and scrapbooking stores. Wednesday was another great day on the beach. We ate at a wonderful Italian restaurant, Rossi's that night. Thursday morning Andy and Kelly took me to the Captain's House for breakfast. I had never been there and just loved the atmosphere. The restaurant sits right on the ocean. We sat out on the porch with a lovely breeze blowing. That night we went to the restaurant Le Grande that Stacy works at. The food was great but it wasn't the most kid friendly restaurant. After that we decided to try to take some family pictures. They really turned out gooThen it was time to go back and start packing up to get ready to go home. I can't say how much it meant to me to get to spend this week with my little Sarah. I have really missed the little tradition Kelly and I had started with our annual trip to the beach but now we have hopefully started another tradition and Nana will get invited again. Now that baby #2 is on the way another set of hands will come in handy....
